Welcome to May! My Birthday month ❤️
The photo I took above is the Enea Statue in Lower Barrakka Gardens, Malta
The following letter, written by Notes from the Universe @TUT.com inspired me to write this months blog:
A letter from my Greater Self:
One day this will all be a distant memory, yet I can tell you now, with the confidence of someone who's gone ahead in time to know, that you'll look back on this life and be so full of love and admiration for yourself and your journey that you'll wonder, as I now do, how it could possibly have escaped you then.
Maybe this will help.
Your Greater-Self,
I Love that ❤️
So…..away I blog!
Here’s how I see it. Inside each of us, there is a garden - sometimes wild and overgrown, sometimes carefully tended, but it always has potential.
I think the best you, your greater self, is a bit like the strongest tree in the garden; deeply rooted, reaching upwards & giving beauty, shade and maybe even a fruit or two to the world!
But as a gardener, I know that gardens don’t just happen instantly. They are cultivated with patience, courage, and care & sometimes over many years. Mistakes turn into happy accidents & some things just decide where they want to grow all by themselves.
So maybe every thought, choice, and action is like a seed. Some seeds - like self-doubt, fear, and resentment - can choke the life out of your inner garden if left unattended. The bind weed of life!
But when you choose seeds of hope, kindness, and resilience, you plant the beginnings of something extraordinary 🤗
In the winter, It’s easy to think growth has stopped when nothing seems to be blooming. But underground, work is happening: roots are growing deeper & stronger for the following year! So trust the process. Growth often happens invisibly, long before the world can see it (I think my parents would agree on that point with me 😂)
Becoming your greater self then, is a lifelong act of cultivation. Some days you’ll be pulling the pesky bind weed out. Some days you’ll be basking in the sun. But every day, with every small choice to tend your inner garden, you grow closer to the self that’s been within you all along.
Maybe my 49th year is the one!
Nurture it well. The world needs your garden in full bloom! 🌺 May your garden thrive!
And my song of the month if you can be bothered: ‘Ordinary’ by Alex Warren
